Three Springs has continued its push to go one better in 2024, defeating Mingenew by 55 points at home while celebrating a milestone for one of its players.

The side fell in the grand final to the Roos in 2023, but sit on top of the North Midlands Football League ladder after 13 rounds.

Their win over the Bulldogs marked their seventh in a row, and also celebrated club president Brad Taylor’s 150th game.

The beloved club figure was chaired off post game, as the Bombers formed a guard of honour for the achievement.

Meanwhile, Dongara has booked their spot in the finals, locking in as top four contenders in 2024 following a win over the Roos.

The Eagles needed to win at least one of their three remaining games prior to round 13 to secure a finals berth, which they were able to do on Saturday against Carnamah-Perenjori.

The side was inspired by their chance to clinch a finals berth, where the win could have been bigger if Dongara was able to straighten up in front of the big sticks.

However, the Eagles still claimed a spot in the top four with two rounds to go, winning 9.15 (69) to 6.5 (41) against the reigning premiers.

In the other game, Coorow-Latham flexed their muscles against Morawa despite an early hiccup, winning by 88 points.

The Tigers were in the lead at quarter time, as they look to upset the Magpies.

However, it did little to deter Coorow-Latham, as they piled on 10 goals to one in the second term to take away the game from Morawa.

From there, the result was never in doubt for the Magpies, who won 24.11 (155) to 10.7 (67) to keep their minor premiership hopes alive.

The results mean the Bombers, Magpies, Roos, and Eagles will compete in the NMFL finals, but where teams finish is still up for grabs.

Just two points separates first-placed Three Springs from Coorow-Latham, while it’s the same story for third and fourth-placed Carnamah-Perenjori and Dongara.
