Nationals promise seniors’ units

The WA Nationals have promised to spend $15 million on new units for seniors in Kalbarri if they can form government after the March 13 State election.

North West Central member Vince Catania said this would allow local seniors to stay in Kalbarri and downsize without needing to leave town.

“A range of modern facilities and services is a non-negotiable for our regional communities and is often a key consideration for people deciding to come to work and live in our towns,” he said.

Mr Catania said there would be an “additional focus” on services and infrastructure to support residents and businesses.

He listed his party’s commitments to Kalbarri as re-opening the Kalbarri Air Services, a Mid West rescue helicopter, an artificial reef, and a $58 million boost to the Patient Assisted Travel Scheme.
