Meekatharra police get down and dirty

Staff reporterMidwest Times

Meekatharra police have proven they aren’t afraid of getting their hands (or uniforms) dirty, after officers came to the aid of a truck driver stranded on a sodden dirt road following heavy rain.

The driver came to grief when his truck became bogged while he tried to drive it through a deep puddle yesterday.

Fortunately for him, police came to the rescue, helping to dig free his stricken Hino.

The incident prompted a warning from Meekatharra police on Twitter.

“Be careful on the roads as we’ve had a lot of rain in the last 24hrs,” the tweet read.

“We turned up just in time to help dig out this stranded motorist.”
