A bushfire burning since last Wednesday at Kumarina in the Shire of Meekatharra has been extinguished.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services this morning issued an all-clear advice for people travelling along Great Northern Highway in north-eastern parts of Kumarina.

No roads have been closed but motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible or reduce speed and drive carefully because of smoke.

Firefighters will continue to monitor the area for the rest of today.

The blaze, which was burning in bushland 20km east of Great Northern Highway, was believed to have been ignited by lightning.
