In a highly anticipated rematch that had all the drama off-field, there was still a game to play but Ugle Fabrications La Fiamma were unable to come away with the points in their clash with Alkimos. After their previous match was abandoned before half-time by the referee because of Alkimos’ behaviour, there was a lot of tension leading into the rematch. The Reds were faced with a tall task in the match, with Alkimos sitting second on the ladder while La Fiamma are 10th. Unfortunately fortune did not favour the brave on Sunday as Alkimos won 3-0. Before the game, team captain Lachlan Gray stressed how important it was for the Reds to tighten up their defence. After a 25th-minute goal, the flood gates opened with Alkimos netting another two in 13 minutes to lead 3-0 at half-time. After going on the road for the past two rounds, the Reds will host Spearwood on Saturday in the Amateur League Division Three match. In the reserves, La Fiamma conceded early goals to lose 3-0 to Alkimos.
