Ugle Fabrications La Fiamma managed to finally take advantage of their home ground as they claimed a win over Subiaco. The Reds clinched their third win this season, defeating the formidable Subiaco AFC 2-0. Their four-game losing streak came to an end as the Reds had not claimed points since UWA forfeited in round 4. While it is the first home win for La Fiamma, the team still has a way to go if they plan on contending for finals. The win does not help them move up the ladder, as they are now tied in points with Woodvale and Perth Royals, but they remain second last due to a minus 10 goal differential. After letting their last two opponents score five and nine goals, the Reds were able to fix some of their defensive worries, keeping Subiaco scoreless in the clash. The squad will be hoping to build momentum as they are on the road this week against top-four team Noranda City. The Reds will need to capitalise on a vulnerable Noranda side, that suffered a 7-2 loss on the weekend, if they want a chance at finals. La Fiamma will travel south when they face off against Noranda on Sunday at Noranda Sporting Complex.
