La Fiamma have won their first away match of the season with a 5-2 win over Kalamunda United FC in round nine of the State Amateur League on Sunday afternoon.

La Fiamma came out firing at Maida Vale Reserve, putting four goals past Kalamunda in the opening 45 minutes.

Reds forward Kumbi Dzoma continued his fine form this season, scoring a first-half hat-trick while Tom Mitic also got on the scoresheet.

The Reds were tested shortly after half-time as two penalties in quick succession allowed Kalamunda to pull the score back to 4-2.

Despite the setback, La Fiamma quickly regained control in the second half as they dictated the tempo of the match.

Al Mupotaringa put the icing on the cake for the Reds with five minutes to go, scoring his first goal for the club to make it 5-2.

Mitic was particularly impressive, with four goal assists and scoring the other.

Vice-captain and centre-back Will Cable said he was impressed by the team’s performance.

“First half, I think we were untouchable. You know, it was really good to see the team back together and strong again. Second half, we were a little bit slow off the blocks but I think that’s just how the game went.”

“I think the boys performed outstandingly and gone on a good run. I think we’re unbeaten in eight games now, one loss for the season,” he said.

The result leaves them in equal fifth on the table, four points off league leaders Perth AFC.

They will now head back home to face Cracovia SC at Salvatore Sciuto Stadium on Saturday night.
