A motorist has been charged after he allegedly pulled over at a roadside stop near Geraldton and robbed an 82-year-old man who was having breakfast in his caravan.

Police allege the accused man entered the caravan and threatened the 82-year-old with a tyre lever before stealing a mobile phone and driving away.

The alleged incident happened last Friday near Bringo, on the Geraldton-Mt Magnet Road.

A 28-year-old Mullewa man has been charged with aggravated armed robbery and stealing.

He was also charged with another count of stealing in relation to the alleged theft of fuel from a Carnarvon service station earlier that same day.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Geraldton Magistrate’s Court.
