A 19-year-old Wandina woman was flown to a Perth hospital with serious injuries last week, including a broken jaw and fractured eye socket, after an alleged assault by her partner. Laurence Scott Turvey, 19, was charged with aggravated threats to kill and acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm after the Friday incident. Geraldton Detectives officer-in-charge Det-Sen. Sgt Bruce McDonald said police would allege the woman was “seriously assaulted” by Mr Laurence on August 20. “She was flown by the Royal Flying Doctor Service to Perth to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and she has sustained a broken jaw, fractured eye socket, wound to one of her eyebrows and cuts and bruising around the body,” he said. Mr Laurence’s bail was refused He is due to appear in Geraldton Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
