Geraldton police investigate robbery at Pizza Hut Geraldton where male suspect stole cash till with $500

Geraldton police are investigating a robbery at a pizza takeaway store while staff were present after a man has allegedly stolen the cash register inside the store containing $500 cash. Officer-in-charge Sen. Sgt Chris Martin said a suspect has approached Pizza Hut Geraldton on Durlacher Street about 8.30pm on Sunday and observed inside the store. “Upon seeing the counter unmanned he has entered the store and jumped the counter,” he said. Sen. Sgt Martin said the suspect removed the cash register drawer from behind the counter and jumped back over the counter, leaving the store through the front entrance. The total amount of cash in the till was $500. On Monday Sen. Sgt Martin said police were awaiting the store’s CCTV footage and forensic analysis results to identify the suspect. Police continue to investigate and ask anyone with information or dash cam footage in the area at the time to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
