Geraldton Police charge woman for allegedly wielding screwdriver and making threats to Rangeway resident

Geraldton Police have charged a 53-year-old woman who they say allegedly lunged at a home occupant with a screwdriver during a verbal argument at the weekend. On Sunday, Geraldton Police received a call in relation to a woman in possession of a screwdriver and threatening the occupant at an address in Rangeway. Acting officer-in-charge Sen. Sgt Andrew Ramsden alleged a verbal argument escalated between a 53-year-old woman and occupant, when the accused lunged at them with the screwdriver. Police confirmed no one was injured as a result of the incident. The 53-year-old was arrested and charged with being armed in a way that may cause fear and making a threat to unlawfully do an act and is due to appear in the Geraldton Magistrates Court in mid-May.
