A 15-year-old boy will face court over serious charges after he allegedly stole a motor vehicle and attempted to headbutt and spit on an officer during the arrest.

Police say the teenager was arrested on Friday, July 15, after he allegedly stole a white Toyota Kluger from a Waggrakine home on Yarraman Road.

When the juvenile was arrested in the Spalding area, acting officer-in-charge Sen. Sgt Adrian Geary said the boy attempted to headbutt a police officer and then spat on them.

“Spitting on someone is a horrible act,” he said.

The vehicle was recovered and the boy was remanded in custody and was due to face the Geraldton Children’s Court on Tuesday.

He was charged with burglary, stealing a motor vehicle and assaulting a police officer.
