Fire crews contain blaze near built-up area of Geraldton
Fire crews have contained a scrub fire near a built-up area of Geraldton.
Twenty eight career and volunteer firefighters are at the scene, in land on the western side of the intersection of North West Coastal Highway and Utakarra Road.
A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the fire was reported at 1.14pm and contained at 2.02pm.
She said no properties or assets were under threat.
Fire crews from Geraldton and Waggrakine were blacking out the area.
North West Coastal Highway was closed but has since been re-opened.
The cause of the fire is not known.
