Exmouth Shire to foster connection between seasonal and local residents with debut community showcase

Exmouth is launching a community showcase to create a space of connection and positive influence for residents, clubs and businesses. The Shire of Exmouth said the community showcase was established with a goal of fostering connection between seasonal and local residents. The showcase will take place at Exmouth’s Federation Park and will kick off from 2pm on Saturday, March 28. Off the back of other successful community events such as markets, outdoor cinema nights and food trucks, the shire said it expected the showcase to be a hit with Exmouth residents. Shire of Exmouth shire president Matt Niikkula said the event would highlight the countless opportunities available to people living in the town. “We are delighted to be showcasing the multiple talents, flavours and community services available for residents and visitors of Exmouth ahead of the annual increase in population over the winter months,” he said. “Making meaningful connections is vital in a small remote community, and bringing the array of opportunities together in one place is something new and exciting for both residents, businesses and visitors alike.” Mr Niikkula said the showcase would feature stalls for local businesses, club and group sign-ups, volunteer opportunities, local creative talent, family-friendly activities and food trucks from 2pm to 9pm. There will also be an outdoor cinema screening from 7pm-9pm. “By creating an event for people to meet, explore and engage, the Shire remains committed to nurturing a friendly, safe and inclusive community spirit,” he said. “A shared shire and community vision encourages residents and visitors to feel supported and informed of the opportunities available to them as the busy season begins.”
