Early education boost for Three Springs with centre start-up
The little locals in Three Springs celebrated the grand opening of a new daycare building recently and it has already made its mark on the community.
Although the town has had a daycare facility for years, the new Three Springs Early Childhood Learning Centre building is its first purpose-built facility.
Shire of Three Springs finance officer and mother Jessica Parker said her son Cody, three, loved getting to spend the day there while she was at work.
“(Cody loves that) they’ve got bikes and they read lots of books,” she said.
If Three Springs didn’t have a daycare centre, Mrs Parker wouldn’t be able to work, and she said she was overjoyed the new building had been designed with so much care.
It has been built to accommodate 19 children and has consulting rooms to facilitate visits from counsellors and other child healthcare professionals.
The centre was officially opened on August 21 by Federal member for Durack, Melissa Price, and attended by local politicians, community members and past and present Three Springs councillors.
Although construction of the facilities was complete in early January, the official opening was delayed due to COVID-19.
