Dongara businesses are rallying to raise money for East Coast bushfire victims.

More than 20 businesses have donated $1800 worth of goods for a raffle and will also hold a sausage sizzle outside Dongara IGA on Saturday.

The sausage sizzle will be held from 9am to 3pm.

Proceeds will go to Dongara Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, for distribution to victims of recent fires in Queensland and New South Wales.

Meanwhile, Consumer Protection Mid West Murchison senior regional officer Danni Bloomfield is warning people to beware of scam fire relief charities.

She advises donating to chosen charities directly, rather than through other parties.
