Coorow off to bright start
Round two of the North Midlands Cricket Association’s T20 competition resulted in Coorow recording back-to-back victories last Sunday.
Held at Coorow, the hosts made a bright start to the day, defeating Morawa by 60 runs in the opening fixture.
Posting 5-162, Coorow were well served by Andy Regan (48) and Callum Mitchell (47), while Bryce North (2-21) was the pick of Morawa’s bowlers.
In reply, Morawa finished on 5-102, despite a solid innings of 45 from Reece Hutton.
Mingenew accounted for Three Springs in game two, posting a solid 1-69. Geoff Cosgrove top scored for Mingenew with 40, while Kyle Grayland took 1-16 for Three Springs.
Mingenew’s bowlers then made light work of Three Springs’ time at the crease, restricting them to 8-43.
The final match of the round was the closest, with the hosts narrowly defeating Mingenew by seven runs.
Matt Burley top scored for the hosts with 35, while Cosgrove again performed well with the willow for Mingenew.
