Child safety character Constable Care visited Geraldton last month to teach students internet safety and to discourage bullying.

The police-backed icon celebrated its 30th anniversary with visits to eight Geraldton schools.

Child Safety Foundation chief executive David Gribble said more than 20,000 children outside Perth would meet the lovable puppet.

“Regional communities often miss out on city-based programs, but the local kids still experience the same social issues and peer pressures as their peers in metropolitan areas,” Mr Gribble said. “As a Statewide service we ensure country children don’t miss out by scheduling visits to regional and remote areas,” he said.

Constable Care visited Geraldton Grammar School, Holland Street School, Bluff Point Primary School, St John’s School Rangeway, Rangeway Primary School, Beachlands Primary School, Allendale Primary School and St Francis Xavier Primary School.
