CMCFL round 11: Dandaragan put hammer down in 187-point demolition over Moora
The Saints showed no mercy as Central Midlands Coastal Football League ladder leaders Dandaragan blew out the bottom team Moora 31.26 (212) to 4.1 (25) on the weekend.
In the clash between the one-loss Dandaragan and the winless Moora, it was a bloodbath as the Saints dominated Moora in every quarter of the game.
Despite holding a 125-point lead going into the final quarter, it clearly wasn’t enough for Dandy who piled on another 10.8 in the closing term.
Dandaragan’s fourth term comes in as the second highest score in a single quarter during a game this season, with Cervantes first quarter against Lancelin in round seven providing an 11.6 score.
The Mavericks were only able to respond with one goal each quarter as the Saints ran up the stats.
Campbell Putland led the way, bagging six goals for the third time this season; Tom Gooch and Anton Scotney each had four goals in the win, with the Saints seeing 12 individual goal scorers.
Over at Lancelin, the Bulldogs turned it around in the second half to take home a 11.14 (80) to 10.6 (66) win over the Pirates.
Lancelin Ledge Point held a five-point lead over Jurien Bay at the main break, but the reigning premiers turned it around with a five goal third term to come back and take the win.
Cam Somerville kicked three goals in the win along with Zac Bestry. While for the Pirates, they saw Zachary Hearne, Brayden Meyers and Lance Mongoo all kick a pair of majors.
Dandaragan will look to continue their hot streak next week when they host Lancelin Ledge Point and Cervantes are back in action at home against Moora.
Moora had a much better showing in the reserves, getting up 7.9 (51) to 3.6 (24) and Jurien Bay took down Lancelin 12.11 (83) to 4.6 (30).
There was a draw in the hockey, with Lancelin and Jurien Bay scoring one a piece and Dandy got up over Moora 2-0.
In the A-grade netball, Jurien Bay defeated Lancelin 57-40 and Dandaragan were too good for Moora 74-47.
