Christmas 2023 message: Sandra Carr MLC gives thanks to community for trust, gives shout-out to vollies

Wishing all a happy and safe holiday season! Thank you to all who have reached out to collaborate to develop and support our community. It has been a privilege to work with you this year. Thanks also to those who have contacted me for help and support. I am grateful for your trusting me and my lovely staff to be of service to you. We are incredibly blessed in our region to be surrounded by beautiful coast and country, and a community that is willing to step up when others need help and support. Thank you to all those who work the festive season hours — you deserve your penalty rates! Here are a couple of little presents we have delivered for all this holiday season: Our Member for Geraldton, Lara Dalton, has also delivered an early Christmas gift in announcing the Geraldton Hospital contract has been award to Multiplex. Lara also helped deliver funds to help the City of Greater Geraldton complete the Aquarena repair and reopening — just in time for the summer months. And speaking of summer, please take the time to go online and do your Bushfire Plan at mybushfireplan.wa.gov.au. This summer is expected to be a hot and dry one, and we have already seen our firefighters and volunteers working hard to keep us all safe. Being prepared is one way you can help keep yourself safe and make their job a little bit easier. A special shout-out and many thanks to our amazing volunteers — thank you for all you do to help keep us safe. Lastly, be patient, be kind and have yourself a very merry Christmas.
