Assault victim suffers serious head injuries

A 49-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm over an alleged serious assault in Jurien Bay on Sunday.

Police said the 25-year-old victim was found with serious head injuries early in the morning.

The victim was taken to Jurien Bay Medical Centre and later flown to Jurien Bay Medical Centre by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Later that same day Geraldton detectives arrested a 49-year-old Jurien Bay man.

He was refused bail and faced Geraldton Magistrate’s Court yesterday, where he was remanded in custody to reappear this Friday.
