AMC Park in Spalding will undergo significant upgrades after receiving an additional $1.4 million in funding. Lotterywest is funding the construction with a $1,445,572 grant that will help give new life to the park. Part of the Spalding revitalisation project, the upgrades were designed by locals and will include a playground, basketball court, education circle, a bush tucker garden and more. City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said the extra funding would help the community ideas come to life. “The AMC Park master plan was developed by the Spalding urban renewal team made up of local residents and business operators, area service providers and year six Bluff Point Primary School students,” he said. “The plan they came up with includes something for everyone and will completely transform the park and how the Mitchell Street Community Centre is used.” Construction on the park started on May 1 and will be done by around the end of the year.
