21 soccer stars will represent the City of Greater Geraldton during international tour

Young soccer stars from across Greater Geraldton are jetting off overseas to represent the city on Football West international tours. In all, 21 boys and girls from the Mid West city will represent Geraldton on three tours. The boys are going on tours to Borneo and Phuket, while both boys and girls will compete in Singapore. The Football West Borneo Tour runs from September 30 to October 11, and is seen as a high-quality international youth tournament played across three stadiums in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, in East Malaysia. Both the boys and girls will get a chance to play in the Gold Fields Singa Cup Tour which is Asia’s premier international youth soccer tournament from November 5 to 14. The Football West Phuket Cup from November 29-December 6, and is played at the Thanyapura Sport and Leisure Club. Regional lead and community participation officer for Football West Tanya Amazzini applauded regional players being able to take part in large-scale tournaments. “It’s truly fantastic to see our players representing Geraldton on these tours,” she said. “This is an incredible opportunity for regional players to showcase their talent in an international tournament.”
