Lots of family fun as KBCCI resurrects Boulder Markets to aid Burt Street businesses

Boulder’s main street came alive on Father’s Day with vibrant market stalls, refreshments and roving entertainment keeping all age groups entertained. The Kalgoorlie-Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the Burt Street Boulder Markets on Sunday as part of its Activ8-KB initiative. Attendees browsed a wide range of products from more than 25 stall holders, while younger event-goers enjoyed free face-painting and entertainment including stilt walkers and aerial acts. KBCCI events co-ordinator Tori O’Connor said the event provided a space for small business owners to host market stalls while also boosting business for Burt Street traders. “We had lots of foot traffic, everyone’s really happy and the stall holders and shop owners are really busy,” she said. “The (turnout) has exceeded our expectations, I don’t think I’ve seen the CBD of Burt Street this busy in a long time.”
