Brisbane Heat batting sensation Josh Brown is dreaming of an Indian Premier League deal after his BBL heroics.

Fresh off playing a leading role in the Heat’s successful finals campaign – including a match-winning 53 off 38 balls in the decider against the Sydney Sixers at the SCG on Wednesday night – Brown has landed his first international T20 contract in Bangladesh.

He leaves on Friday to join the Chattogram Challengers in the Bangladesh Premier League.

Brown’s management had fielded offers from franchises in both the BPL and the UAE’s ILT20 after a stunning 57-ball innings of 140 – which included a Big Bash record 12 sixes – in Brisbane’s semi-final win over Adelaide on Monday night.

“It’s pretty surreal – (there are) very exciting times ahead,” the 30-year-old opener and bat-maker said.

“I’m pretty excited to go over and play in Bangladesh. I’m still trying to take it all in.

“It’s been a crazy week. It’s only just beginning hopefully.’”

Brown has ambitions of representing Queensland and Australia, but also would love the opportunity to play in the lucrative IPL.

“If I can get a gig over in India, that’d be unreal,” he said.

Brown paid tribute to his mother Kris for being his “rock”.

“She helped me through lot of stuff,” he said.

“Even taking me to cricket training when I didn’t have a car, and last year dropping me off atthe Gabba for my second game ... she’s been my rock.”

Brown and English batter Phil Salt have both been added to the BPL team, which lost Pakistan’s Mohammad Haris, who was denied an “no objection certificate” by his country’s board.

Brown’s contract comes after fellow Big Bash breakout star Jake Fraser-McGurk earnt a call-up to the UAE T20 league as well as inclusion in the Australian ODI squad to play the West Indies.
