The most commented stories on our Facebook page this past week were the obituary to community legend Allan Headland and the community’s response to the rare phenomena of Aurora Australis lighting up our skies over the weekend. “Such a beautiful man and asset to our community. His cheeky spirit will live on in his children xx RIP Allan. Heartfelt sympathy to Rose, Cobba, Leanne family and friends,” Jodi Louise posted about Headland’s passing. Another post from Teresa White-Oliveri reads: “Not only a gentleman but a gentle soul. Always made time to chat. I’ll miss that cheeky face Allan and your chit chat. RIP young man.” Our pic of the week goes to a selection of readers’ images of the amazing Aurora Australis, which was also a massive talking point on social media as countless people experienced a light show for the ages, and Geraldton and the Mid West got in on the act.
