Olympic FC have continued their hot start with a six-goal victory over Chapman Athletic in round two of the Mid West Soccer Association Men’s League on the weekend.

After starting their season with a solid 4-1 win over last year’s ladder leaders Geraldton Rovers, Olympic backed it up with a 6-0 thrashing of Chapman Athletic on Saturday.

Paul Johnson picked up two goals in the win, following on from his two-goal performance in round one, as well as Daniel Lennard and Max Winton.

Athletic are coming off the bottom of the ladder last year and look out of their depth once again with the rough start, but the season is still in its early days.

In the other men’s game, the Abrolhos Vikings took down the Rovers 3-2.

The Rovers dropped just three games all last season but have begun this year with back-to-back losses.

Adam Westbrook, Ari Thomas and Riccardo Amazzini all scored for Vikings, while Ben Rollett and Welsey Fleiser picked up goals for the Rovers.

In the women’s, La Fiamma have proven in just two games that there is a clear gap between them and the rest of the league.

The Reds ladies beat Olympic FC 12-0, coming off the back of their 14-0 win in round one against Marconi.

Olivia Bidwell dominated the stat sheets again, scoring five goals for a second game in a row, while Macie Gray got five of her own.

Abrolhos sit as the only other undefeated team in the women’s after their 1-0 win over Chapman Athletic. Paige Carslake’s lone goal was enough to help them pick up a second win.

An Allee Barlett hat-trick helped give the Rovers their first win 6-4 over Marconi.
