The race meeting scheduled for Geraldton tomorrow has been abandoned due to extreme weather temperatures.

Racing and Wagering WA decided against staging the seven-race card following a Bureau of Meteorology forecast of eastern winds and temperatures of 38 at noon and 40 at 5pm.

RWWA introduced a new hot weather policy in December.

Extra races are likely to be added to the Batavia Sprint meeting at Utakarra racecourse on Sunday week.
