Geraldton basketballer Alex Ducas made the most of limited game time in his US college debut today (Tuesday US), scoring three points and making two rebounds for the St Mary’s Gaels.

The 18-year-old, 198cm, 98kg guard played five minutes for the Gaels, as they posted a 65-63 point overtime win against the Wisconsin Badgers in their National Collegiate Athletic Association clash in South Dakota.

The St Mary’s website described the freshman’s debut as impressive.

“Alex Ducas made a quick impression in his debut, knocking down his first 3-pointer on his first shot as a Gael,” it said.

Ducas was a member of the Geraldton Buccaneers 2019 State Basketball League championship team before embarking on his US basketball career.
