Fatal crash involving Tesla in Perth’s east

A Tesla was involved in a fatal crash in Perth’s east that resulted in a cyclist dying five days later from his injuries.

A white Tesla model X and a motorised electric bicycle collided at the intersection of Norman St and Great Eastern Highway in Bellevue about 3.45pm last Friday.

The 34-year-old bike driver rode away after the crash, but on Tuesday he went to Midland Hospital to seek treatment for injuries he had suffered linked to the crash.

He was later transferred to Royal Perth Hospital in a critical condition, where he died on Wednesday.

Major crash investigators are now appealing for anyone who saw the crash or the Tesla and motorised bicycle to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
