Aerial firefighting efforts ramped up in Bullsbrook’s Shady Hills Estate today as the Wooroloo blaze raged closer fanned by strong easterly gusts.

Lines of fire retardant dropped across the surrounding ridges by fixed-wing planes as DFES helitacs were relentless in their water bombing efforts.

Helitacs rushed to nearby dams, occasionally drawing water two at a time.
