A warehouse blaze that caused havoc in a Perth industrial area on Friday night was caused by the failure of a lithium-ion battery.
A business in Osborne Park, understood to be a smash auto repair shop, caught alight around 5.40pm.
Black smoke was billowing from the building near the intersection of Howe and King Edward Street.
Thirteen firefighting trucks were on the scene.
Crews had the blaze contained to the building and controlled by 6.45pm, with the fire out just after 8pm.
The cause has been deemed as accidental due to the failure of a lithium-ion battery which was on charge in the rear of a vehicle
The blaze closed a major section of Howe and O’Malley streets with police blocking off the roads.
Those in the area were urged to stay out of the fumes and keep windows and doors shut.
