For the first time in three years, Fiji Airways will soon resume its twice-weekly direct flight from Nadi to Adelaide.

Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO Andre Viljoen said the majority of tourists who visited Fiji came from Australia, so the service would be welcomed news for local travellers as well as the Fijian community.

Mr Viljoen said the increased fleets allowed to cater for demand out of Adelaide.

“We’re delighted to relaunch our fourth Australian route, which will allow us once again to bring our unique Fijian hospitality to South Australia, as well as offer local residents the opportunity to use Fiji as a gateway to other international destinations,” he said.

Adelaide Airport Managing Director Brenton Cox said Fiji had always been a popular destination with South Australian travellers.

“We know there is significant pent-up demand for South Australians wanting to head overseas again, and Fiji Airways has recognised the strength of our market,” he said.
