Woman in quarantine at Rivervale motel charged after allegedly leaving to get fast food four times

A woman in quarantine at a Rivervale motel has been charged by police after allegedly leaving her room four times in three days to buy fast food.

Police officers from the self quarantine assurance team attended the Rivervale motel where a 50-year-old woman was in quarantine yesterday, after travelling interstate.

The officers could not find her when they arrived, alleging she left in her vehicle to purchase fast food.

Police then established the women had allegedly left the motel on three other occasions to purchase fast food across a three-day period.

The woman is expected to appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court on December 22 to face four counts of failing to comply with a direction.

Police have also charged a 37-year-old woman who allegedly breached self-quarantine conditions by taking her four-year-old daughter to the park on Tuesday.

The pair flew in from interstate Monday morning, and were directed to self-quarantine for 14 days in Rockingham.

The woman has been charged with failing to comply with a direction and both she and her daughter are now required to self-quarantine in a secure hotel.

A WA Police spokesman said despite the fact that WA’s border restrictions were easing, officers would continue to enforce quarantine requirements were necessary.
