Police have charged a 75-year-old man with possession of meth after a car crash in Perth’s eastern suburbs today.

The crash happened on Tonkin Highway in Wattle Grove. It is unclear what time the crash occurred.

But police say as a result of the crash they have charged the 75-year-old man with possession of methampetamine, possession of a smoking implement and driving with a prescribed illicit drug in his system.

The latter charge carries a $500 fine and three demerit points for a first offence.

WA Police have been contacted for further comment on the incident.
