A Sydney rideshare driver is in hospital after being knocked unconscious in a confrontation with a passenger.

Police found the 37-year-old driver unconscious in the street at North Kellyville in the city's northwest, after they received reports of a fight between two men about 3am on Sunday.

A 19-year-old North Kellyville man was arrested nearby a short time later.

Police said he was one of three passengers in the Toyota Camry sedan.

Two other passengers, an 18-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, are speaking with police.
