A jury has been discharged at the trial of a man accused of being involved in the execution of a Sydney criminal lawyer as he sipped tea with friends at a shopping centre cafe

Ho Ledinh, 65, was shot dead in broad daylight at the Happy Cup Cafe at Bankstown City Plaza on January 23, 2018.

Abraham Sinai, 36, pleaded not guilty in the NSW Supreme Court to murdering the solicitor and his trial began on Wednesday.

But on Friday Justice Robert Allan Hulme discharged the jury for legal reasons and the matter will return to court on a later date.
