NEW CASES

* 1993 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19

- A man in his 50s from Hume

- A woman in her 60s from Darebin

- A woman in her 60s from Casey

- A woman in her 70s from Whittlesea

- A man in his 80s from Darebin

- A man in his 80s from Moonee Valley

* Death toll from the current outbreak: 138

* Of the latest cases in metropolitan Melbourne:

- 642 cases in the western suburbs

- 602 cases in the southeastern suburbs

- 457 cases in the northern suburbs

- 111 cases in the eastern suburbs

* 168 of the new cases are in regional Victoria, including:

- 26 in Geelong

- 22 in Greater Shepparton

- 22 in Baw Baw Shire

- 17 in Greater Bendigo

- 17 in the Latrobe Valley

- 16 in Mildura

* Total active cases: 21,647, including just under 1500 in regional Victoria

* 79,214 test results were processed on Friday

VACCINATIONS

* 40,386 vaccines administered at state-run hubs in Victoria on Friday

* 88.5 per cent of Victorians over 16 have had a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 64.3 per cent a second dose

HOSPITALISATIONS

* 798 people in hospital, up 103 from Friday, 163 of whom are in intensive care, including 106 on a ventilator

* 89.2 per cent of people in hospital with COVID-19 are not fully vaccinated
