A West Busselton beach has been closed and forensic police are on the scene after human remains were found today.

King Street and Geographe Bay Road have both been closed off by police after the discovery of the body at 8.45am this morning.

A police spokesman said officers were called to the dunes on Geographe Bay Road, after receiving a report of human remains being discovered in bushes east of the yacht club.

“At this time investigations are under way to determine the cause of death and to establish the identity of the deceased,” the spokesman said.

Police would like to speak to anyone with information in relation to the death to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1800 333 000 or by making a report online at crimestopperswa.com.au.
