Robins Women’s Hockey Club went head-to-head with Associates on Saturday in the first final of the South West League Competition to secure a victor for tomorrow’s grand final.

The evenly matched teams played with high skill and fierce tackles to get their respective sides ahead.

Opportunity presented itself to Robins, with short corners common throughout the game, but skilled Associates goalie Kym Hender kept the ball safely on the pads.

The final siren blew with both Robins and Associates unable to score, and extra time was played with determination growing quickly.

The tense game saw both teams demonstrate sportsmanship after one-on-one play-offs secured Associates as the victor with a definitive score of 3-0.
