Kwinana Beach bushfire: Blaze results in closure of Rockingham Road northbound

Parts of Rockingham Road have been closed as a bushfire burns near the Perth Motorplex in Kwinana Beach.

Emergency WA reported the blaze about 2.19pm on Sunday and later updated the alert about 6.05pm to say the area was being monitored.

Main Roads alerted motorists about 2.44pm that Rockingham Road northbound is shut between Thomas Road and Anketell Road.

Traffic is heavy in the area, with motorists being urged to stay alert and seek an alternative route.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services and police attended the scene.
