Bushfire emergency warning for Burawa community in Fitzroy Crossing

An emergency warning has been issued for Burawa community in Fitzroy Crossing, with an out-of-control blaze threatening lives and homes.

The fire started near the intersection of Forrest Road and Burawa Road in Fitzroy Crossing, with anyone in the area urged to immediately evacuate via Forrest Road.

A watch and act is also in place for the Junjuwa community, with people in the area urged to leave if the way is clear, or make preparations to defend homes.

Firefighters are on the scene actively fighting the fire.
