VideoA woman from Ballina in northern NSW has won the entire $100 million Powerball prize, the largest jackpot in 16 months.

A woman went to bed $100 million richer last night after winning the entire Powerball prize.

The woman from Ballina in NSW’s Northern Rivers has become the country’s third-largest lottery winner.

When she received the life-changing call, she said she was surrounded by her entire family and shared the moment with them.

“What the f...! I’m still in shock. No, this can’t be happening,” she said.

“No, c’mon, this is bulls..t, bloody hell.

“Is this my cousin pranking me? My cousin is pranking me.”

One member of her family yelled, “We’ve won the f...ing lotto”.

She said the only reason she bought a ticket was because she had FOMO after much of her family purchased entries in the draw.

The Ballina woman said the win felt particularly special, given the recent death of a family member.

“We recently had a death in the family, and I think it’s a sign from them; they’re so looking after me,” she said.

“We’ve had signs all day from them; things moving, cans moving, bags waving in the wind.”

The newly-minted multi-millionaire said she had big plans for the cash.

“This will help a lot of people; not just me but lots of family members,” she said.

“I’ll be able to pay off my mortgage.

“Now we have to see how we’re going to get the Moët delivered.

“I’ll be celebrating with breakfast in bed tomorrow – scrambled eggs and bacon for me.”

The winning numbers from draw #1587 were 14, 24, 15, 3, 27, 32, 30 and the mighty Powerball was 16.

It marked the first time that the Powerball reached the nine digit mark since June 2025, and it is just the 13th time in the game’s 30-year history.

In addition to the Northern Rivers woman, another 12 punters won a generous $172,306.45 from the division two prize pool after falling short of the Powerball, and a further 186 Aussies won $13,749.40 from division three.
