WA musicians will pack their bags and head for the Great Southern this month as they prepare to hit the road for the first time since the COVID-19 outbreak.

In a move that is sure to make the east coast music scene jealous, the Back On The Road regional tour is one of the first major tours to take place in WA as the music industry slowly starts to recoup.

Hip-hop artist Drapht and Fremantle indie band Spacey Jane are two of the four names who will be rolling out to the regions for a series of shows.

With Albany the third destination of the tour, Spacey Jane will get fans going with their indie-rock tunes at Studio 146 on Friday, August 21.

If indie garage-pop is not your style, you can catch two-time ARIA award winner Drapht the following week.

The Perth-based hip-hop artist will play at Studio 146 on August 28.

With six albums behind him, Drapht is one of Australia’s best known rappers.

He will bring Complete and Downsyde as supporting acts — both pioneers for WA hip-hop artists on the national scene.

The artists are set to clock up more than 24,000km during the two-week tour visiting Geraldton, Bunbury, Kalgoorlie and Port Hedland.

The Back On The Road tour will be a boost for Albany’s music scene, after local singer-songwriter Carla Geneve postponed her show from Sunday to Sunday, December 20 at The White Star Hotel.
