Mt Barker community project opening the door to public art

The Mt Barker Creative Doors Celebration has opened the door to the artistic creativity of dozens of locals.

More than 100 doors covered in artwork are being placed across town as part of a mini-festival co-ordinated by artists George Corke and Mt Barker police Sergeant David Johnson.

Members of the public will be encouraged to vote for their favourite door art, with the winners auctioned off to raise funds for next year’s Mountains and Murals festival.

Mr Corke said the public art exhibition was launched to fill a void left by the second Mountains and Murals Festival, which has been postponed to November 2021 because of COVID-19.
