TV review: Is Kendall Roy dead in the Succession season three finale? We have so many questions!

Succession Monday, 10am, Binge If you’ve been obsessively devouring the latest season of Succession, chances are you’re counting down the hours until the season finale airs this Monday. That final scene! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then stop reading now. Because: spoiler incoming! But if you do, then you’ll be eagerly awaiting this week’s episode to find out just what happened to Kendall Roy. Was he lying face down in the water having clearly given up the will to fight another day? Or was he simply floating … on a see-through inflatable mattress? It’s an intriguing question, and one that’s been much-debated this week, especially in light of a particularly intriguing profile written by a journalist for The New Yorker, focused on Jeremy Strong, the intense method actor who portrays the oldest Roy son on the show (side note: if you haven’t read it, seek it out IMMEDIATELY! It has some, um, interesting things to say about him). Succession has serious Shakespearean overtones, with not-so-subtle nods to King Lear, so it would be supremely fitting to have their tortured heir-apparent meet a sticky end via a blow-up flotation device in a pool in Tuscany. But something tells us that would be waaay too simple — though admittedly, it would give the show an intriguing re-entry point for season four. The show’s creator, Jesse Armstrong, has said Succession will only go for another series or two, so it’s still anyone’s guess as to how our ill-fated antihero will float into future episodes. Perhaps one of his siblings will chuck him a pool noodle? Hmm…seems doubtful. Selling Tampa Wednesday, Dec 15, Netflix Confession time: I am addicted to bad reality real estate shows. It started with Selling Sunset on Netflix and spiralled out of control. Now I’m flat-out obsessed with episodes of Luxe Listings — Australia’s superb contribution to the genre — and hoovering anything and everything in sight. Selling Tampa is the newest addition to the oeuvre, and focuses on an all-female, all-African American brokerage in Florida. It’s just the right mix of manufactured drama and envy-inducing waterside real estate — and I am 100 per cent there for their antics. You can thank me later. Real Housewives of Melbourne Today, 5.30pm, Arena Real talk: this hasn’t been my favourite season of RHOM. But the final few minutes of tonight’s season finale are absolute unadulterated madness, and more than make up for what has been, I think, a fairly lacklustre series. MacGruber Friday, Stan With comedy genius Lorne Michaels at the helm, we have high hopes for this comedy, centred around one of SNL comedian Will Forte’s better known comic creations. It also stars Kristen Wiig and Ryan Phillippe. Gardening Australia Friday, 7.32pm, ABC There’s something so soothing about watching Costa and the gang potter about in the garden. Tonight marks the final episode for the year, and they’ve got your summer garden jobs list sorted.
