Shoppers warned not to eat popular seaweed snack due to plastic risk

Shoppers have been warned not to eat a snack over fears it could contain plastic.
Kagro NSW Pty Ltd’s Pinkfong Seasoned Seaweed Flakes 40g have been recalled by Food Standards Australia New Zealand due to the detection of plastic.
“Consumers should not eat this product. Food containing plastic may cause injury/illness if consumed,” FSANZ said in a statement.

“Consumers should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.” FSANZ said in a statement on Wednesday.
The use by date of the product is until August 20 this year.
