Local fashion brands and retailers on the rise in 2026

Perth cops a decent amount of slack for not being as “creatively blessed” as the east coast.

But I beg to differ because when you look closely our city is a hive of talent — you just need to know where to look to support local.

In the industry’s current state with fast fashion brands churning out garments like there’s no tomorrow, it’s more important than ever to invest in WA businesses by purchasing their designs. Yes, they come with a higher price tag (most of the time), but their pieces haven’t been sewn in a sweatshop, they’re (typically) higher quality and best of all, they are the product of our neighbours’ creative mind.

Here’s my hot list of local fashion brands and retailers on the rise for 2026.

Mon Ete Swim

Translating to “my summer” in French, Mon Ete is for those aiming for Mediterranean chic at the beach this season. The local swimwear brand founded by Paris Lindsay specialises in petite bikinis in prints and block colours. Lindsay recently released a new pink print dubbed Poolside Blush and a small collection of summertime cover-ups. www.moneteswim.com.au

Deconduarte

Occasionwear that’s second-to-none. Deconduarte is distinctly unique — you won’t find its pieces anywhere else. Designer Michelle Teles has an incredible flair for design and has grown the brand’s distinct signature look over the past few years. Its latest Sol Bloom collection celebrates the beauty of summer, with smooth silky fabrications and luminous sequins. deconduarte.com

Loleia

A swimwear brand dedicated to paying homage to the “freedom and vibrance of the 80s and 90s” with loud prints, bold designs and an overall energising ethos. Celebrities including Hailey Bieber and Katy Perry are known to don the Perth brand and its prices vary from $10 to $89. loleiaswim.com

Neighbourhood Vintage

I recently discovered this local vintage store thanks to a friend and I think it may be Fremantle’s best kept secret. It stocks curated vintage pieces, independent designers and recently launched its own line named Neighbourhood Originals. Shopping sustainably has never looked so chic. Shop 6/27-35 William St, Fremantle.

Bellanue

Bella Gervo recently launched her brand Bellanue and its everyday casual pieces have already sold out. With production set to recommence in January, it’s best to set your alarm clocks if you want to snag a piece (I know I will be). Bella hand makes everything herself here in Western Australia. @bellanue___

Olivia Grace

North Metropolitan TAFE fashion graduate Olivia Grace is going places — and it’s not hard to see why. The talented emerging designer’s graduate collection won five (of eight) industry awards and is an explosion of colour, print and everything fun about fashion. Follow her Instagram @designedbyoliviagrace to keep up with her movements.

Basket Studio

Another recent addition to Fremantle is Basket Studio, which stocks small brands as well as owner Sam Balcombe’s own SBA The Label. It’s stores like this which inject so much excitement into the local fashion scene — where emerging designers (who may not be able to afford their own shopfront) can have the opportunity to display their pieces in a retail setting. The Piazza, South Terrace, Fremantle.
