Perth’s property market has seen its first sale in the double-digit millions this year with the purchase of a $10 million property in Cottesloe.

The extraordinary four-bedroom home — which was the 2016 HIA Custom Built Home of the Year — includes a double-storey, glass floored, fully air-conditioned, wine cellar.

Set metres away from the ocean on a quiet Norfolk-lined street, it avoids the full glare of the afternoon sun with its north-facing orientation.

A glass wall along the living room retracts to the massive marble-tiled balcony, which has pool and ocean views.

But I am not sure who I would rather be — the recent buyers who get to live in this beautiful home — Jason Starcevich and Astrid Kanther?

Or the seller — Ross Taylor — who made about $13,000 every week in capital gains since buying it in early 2018 for $6 million?

Cottesloe was the epicentre of the post-pandemic boom, and has enjoyed a 58 per cent increase in price over the past five years, according to the Real Estate Institute of WA.

This is twice as much as Greater Perth, up 25 per cent in the same time.

Starcevich, who runs finance provider FIFO Capital, and wife Kanther, a tennis coach, could not be contacted.

The home was sold by Justin Davies of Space Real Estate.
