What to Watch this week: Too Hot to Handle, Lost in Scotland, Death in Paradise, Mary Berry and Muster Dogs

Reality Too Hot to Handle Wednesday, streaming on Netflix Nothing says mind-numbing, guilty pleasure reality TV like Too Hot to Handle. The Netflix dating show with a twist took the world by storm when it first dropped in 2020. While collectively losing our minds over a group of attractive, young singles being told that they couldn’t get it on may have been a result of us all being stuck at home, loyal fans will be happy to know another season is about to drop. As always, this time around the group have been hoodwinked into thinking they’ve signed up for a sexy holiday, but will instead have to abstain from any sort of sexual contact to not only form meaningful connections, but keep the prize-money pool topped up. Documentary Miriam & Alan: Lost in Scotland Thursday, 8.30pm, ABC Actors Miriam Margolyes and Alan Cumming are stepping back in time and returning to their Scottish roots with a road trip through the Highlands and into the country’s wildest places. Their trip begins in Glasgow, where they stop off at the street where Miriam’s Jewish family first laid down their roots, before they share more about their family histories, as Alan tries to find out if he is related to nobility. These three episodes also see the pair tick off a bucket-list item of racing up Glencoe and later recording a Gaelic song. Prepare for plenty of laughter, tears and even more admiration for these two thespians in this raucous trip down memory lane. Drama Death in Paradise Saturday, 7.30pm, ABC After being introduced last season, D.I. Neville Parker (Ralf Little) is now settling into life on Saint Marie. While he initially spent most of his time on the island complaining about the sun, mosquitoes and spicy food, but ended up deciding to stay. However, there have been some staffing changes at the Honore Police Station, and he is now joined D.S. Florence Cassell (Josephine Jobert), who left in season eight. As always, they will attempt to solve a slew of mysterious murders in the sun-soaked Caribbean. First up, when a TV news presenter is found strangled in her pool, Neville is sure that her popular co-host is guilty. But given that the suspect was live on air at the time of the murder, how could he have done it? Food Mary Berry’s Simple Comforts Sunday, 7.30pm, SBS Food The UK’s ‘Queen of Baking’, Mary Berry, is back to provide plenty of inspiration for delicious food that is simple to make and comforting to eat. Throughout six episodes, she travels to places including England, Ireland and Scotland to discover and cook dishes from onion and artichoke tart, bolognese bake and gingerbread. However, she kicks off the culinary trip in Paris — the city where she learned to cook. A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, she makes some of her own irresistible dishes inspired by the city — a croque monsieur, lemon and sugar crepe, brioche and apple frangipane tart. She finishes with a succulent slow roast leg of lamb with ratatouille. Factual Muster Dogs Sunday, 7.40pm, ABC Five kelpie puppies are being put through their paces in a journey to become working muster dogs in this charming series. While training them up would usually take three years, this schedule will see them try to reach milestones within a year. Sent across the country, one pup ends up at Glenforrie station in the Pilbara, where third-generation grazier Aticia Grey (who also released her memoir, Muster Dogs, last year) gives her the name, Gossip, and takes on the job of training her, all under the watchful eye of respected expert trainer Neil McDonald. With many farms around the country making the move back to mustering with dogs rather than machines, this series shows the beautiful bond with man’s best friends.
